about ArchDraught Advanced Design Quality Homes ArchDraught was established in 2004 with Phil Orr and Rebecca Amundsen striving to build the business and spend time with their young family. More than a decade later, we are continuing to work alongside our clients – and the kids are getting all grown-up! Building and renovating is a journey. Let us help you make it a good one. ArchDraught creates custom designs for your new home or alteration. Our years of experience in developing custom new homes, alterations, and a variety of commercial work means we’re the right choice for you. ArchDraught provides a comprehensive service that includes Design, Consent Documentation, and liaising with consultants and councils throughout the consent process. Since 2010 ArchDraught has excelled in sustainable and cost-effective building concepts – and they walk the talk: Phil and Rebecca bought an empty plot of land at Papatowai in the Catlins with deep peat-based soil. They worked out that the most effective building system was turning back the clock to building methods of the past – based on concepts like post and beam construction still used in rural farm buildings. This allowed for larger spanning timbers and thicker walls—a real bonus for insulation with straw bale inserts and earthen plasters to control internal moisture. ArchDraught has a team of 3 in their Invercargill Office.
